Perfect Peanut Butter Blossoms

Updated: Sep 20, 2019

COOOOOOKIES. Cookies just scream the holidays, don't they? I'll be honest, I really only ever make cookies when it starts to get cold outside. There is just something about baking cookies in your comfiest fuzzy socks on a chilly day. I can promise you, from now until about Valentine's Day, you will find some sort of cookie in our kitchen. I definitely make up for lost cookie time.

Peanut butter blossoms are by far my most favorite cookie on this planet. It combines my two preferred flavors: peanut butter & chocolate. YUM. These cookies are soft, delicate, and just melt in your mouth. They are also a very popular holiday cookie! You can decorate them for Halloween as witches hats, Thanksgiving as acorns, and Christmas as trees! By far one of the most versatile cookies ;)

If you are a diehard peanut butter/chocolate lover like me, then these cookies are for you! Once you make these bad boys, they too will become your favorite cookie as well.

(PS: we don't judge here. I may or may not have eaten an entire batch myself at one point...)

Here's what you will need:

  • 1/2 Cup Butter, melted halfway (I used salted butter)

  • 1 Cup Light Brown Sugar

  • 1 Egg

  • 2 Tsp Vanilla Extract

  • 3/4 Cup Creamy Peanut Butter (I used JIF)

  • 1 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour

  • 3/4 Tsp Baking Soda

  • 1/4 Cup Granulated Sugar

  • 1 Pkg Hershey Kisses

And here's what you'll do!

First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Line your baking sheets with parchment paper or spray your sheet with cooking spray.

Next, you will cream together your butter & brown sugar until it is smooth. Be sure there aren't any lumps! You want it nice and blended. From there, beat in the egg, vanilla, and peanut butter until everything is completely combined. Add in your flour & baking soda, making sure not to over mix. Chill dough for about 15 minutes so it firms up a bit.

Measure out the granulated sugar in a small dish. Next, scoop out your dough into about 1" rounded balls. Rolls in the sugar and place about 1.5" apart. Bake for 7-8 minutes. While your delicious cookies are baking to perfection, start unwrapping your Hershey Kisses.

After you have taken the cookies out of the oven, let them cool for about 2 minutes before you add your kiss. They will be nice and puffy! Right in the middle of your cookie gently press in your Hershey Kiss. Let them cool for about 15 minutes before moving or storing (eating a few is O-K!). The chocolate will have melted a bit.

These delectable and heavenly peanut butter blossoms will be soon be your household's favorite holiday cookie. Devour, nibble or inhale. Either way, enjoy! :)

xo,

Micaiah
